Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein, OSB
Fr. Donald Calloway
Rich Donnelly
Major League Baseball Coach

“The Indiana Catholic Men’s Conference is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen your faith.  Men of all ages are encouraged to attend this important event.”

– Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein, OSB
Archbishop of Indianapolis

The Indiana Catholic Men’s Conference has been fortunate to have the blessing of Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein, OSB, and his presence at our previous events.  This year the Archbishop will be returning from the Holy Land on the day of the conference.  We wish him safe travel and we thank him for his continued support.

Fr. Donald Calloway was raised without any religion or a father figure to model. When his family moved to California, he slipped into the "MTV lifestyle" - sex, drugs and rock music. This pagan rebellion intensified to total mayhem when his family relocated to Japan and he ran away from home. Constantly on the move to avoid arrest, he and his friends soon got connected with the Japanese Mafia. During his time of endless wanton wandering filled with wine, women & song, Donald's mother became Catholic & fervently prayed for her fifteen-year-old prodigal son to return home.

Fortunately, he discovered a book on Marian apparitions and devoured its powerful message of repentance. The Blessed Virgin Mary had literally stolen his heart and introduced spiritual concepts like heaven, hell, repentance and sin. There was no turning back! Rev. Donald Calloway, M.I.C., is the assistant rector of the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. After studying at the Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH and the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., he was ordained to the sacred priesthood in 2003.

Rich Donnelly, signed as a catcher in 1967 by the Minnesota Twins, and is one of the most experienced coaches in Major League Baseball. He has coached 25 seasons in Major League Baseball, with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburg Pirates, Florida Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Texas Rangers.  He helped lead the Florida Marlins to the MLB World Championship, under manager Jim Leyland, with whom he worked for 14 seasons.

A man of strong faith, he is also noted for his participation in the film, “Champions of Faith - Baseball Addition.”  The Lifetime Network also had a television special on a moving and his compelling family, faith filled story. Rich Donnelly and his wife Bert have eight children: Bubba, Amy, John, Tiffany, Mike, Leigh Anne, Tim and Adam. Donnelly graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in where he played baseball and basketball. He then received a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

Fr. Weldon was born and raised in New York.  He spent twelve years in New York before moving to Connecticut.  Having graduated from high school in 1994, he then graduated from Cornell University four years later.  After college, Fr. Weldon worked as an assistant buyer for Lord & Taylor corporate before moving to Indiana in 1999.  He was no stranger to Indiana, as his mother grew up in the Ft. Wayne area.

Upon moving to Indiana, Fr. Weldon began driving a concrete truck in the hopes of learning the business from his uncle and someday running that business.   He built a home in West Lafayette, had been dating the same girl since his senior year at Cornell and was looking very closely at proposing to her when the call to the priesthood came one last time.

This time he answered that call, knowing it was only in the priesthood that he would find his complete fulfillment.  He spent five years at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, MO, and was ordained to the priesthood on June 4, 2005.  Fr. Weldon served two years at All Saints Parish in Logansport, IN, before being transferred to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in  Carmel, IN, on July of 2007.
